Positions You Can Apply For
Counsellor - All-Sport
A cabin counsellor works under the direction of a Section Head and provides continuous supervision and safety for all facets of the camp program for a group of 8-12 children. All-Sport Camp is designed to offer campers a wide range of sports activities and counsellor participation is required. You should be able to work independently and cooperatively. Having patience and a positive outlook on trying new things is important to the role of counsellor. Our campers deserve to have a positive role model during their stay with us.
Coach - Volleyball Camp
Our volleyball coaches must be a minimum of 19 years of age, have years of volleyball experience and most importantly a passion for the sport of volleyball. We have been fortunate to have Canada's top club, school and university coaches on our staff and our Madawaska families are accustomed to expecting quality volleyball instruction for their children. We are proud to offer our campers a learning environment regardless of their abilities to ensure a positive and successful camp experience for everyone.
Coaches are expected to pre-plan lessons and drills and are offered resources to help them if required. Our senior staff are always more than willing to assist you in this area. Coaches do not sleep in the cabins with the campers.
Specialists - All-Sport Camp
Our sport specialists should possess highly developed skills in their chosen sport and be able to create lesson plans for groups of 10 - 14 campers per session. Time management, organization and good communication skills are required. Madawaska campers are of all skill levels and we encourage the campers with positive reinforcement to build their self confidence while teaching them new skills. The cabin counsellors will be participating and assisting the specialists in the execution of each lesson. Specialists do not sleep in the cabins with the campers.
C.I.T. (Coach in Training) - Volleyball Camp
As a C.I.T. at Madawaska Volleyball Camp your responsibilities will include participation in staff training, an assignment with a specific cabin group and assisting coaches in lesson development.
As a positive role model for the athletes, you are expected to possess leadership skills and volleyball experience. As an in-cabin counsellor, you will supervise the campers and work closely with them to ensure a positive overnight camp experience. Of course you have a terrific support system in your coaches and head staff if required and it is encouraged you engage in this support system during any point of the week should you feel the need.
Our philosophy at volleyball camp is to make the beginner feel equally at home with the advanced player and the most important factor is to offer a healthy overnight sport camp environment so athletes can develop their skills while making terrific summer camp memories.
