About Madawaska Volleyball & All-Sport Camps

VOLLEYBALL CAMP:

Madawaska Volleyball Camp has served the Canadian and U.S. volleyball community annually since 1972.

Over our 39 years we have impacted on volleyball tremendously with many provincial, national and international players honing their skills on our site, under the tutelage of our outstanding staff. Our ratio of campers to coaches is 7:1, unheard of in any volleyball learning centre.

When Madawaska first started as a developmental camp of the Ontario Volleyball Association in 1972, the objective was to develop elite athletes in the province. Over the years, our philosophy has expanded. We now see ourselves as a unique setting where the novice/beginner is equally at home with the advanced player. Whether you are an experienced club player or a junior high school beginner, Madawaska is the place for you to learn and have a wonderful camp experience.

We accept athletes, boy and girls, from 12 years of age to 18 years of age. Players are placed in homogeneous groups based on age/grade and skill. They play and sleep together and by week end, they are a "team" with new friendships having evolved and a life experience gained from having planned and worked together for the week.

Madawaska accepts a maximum of 525 athletes - a combination of up to 478 in the regular team (court) program and 200 in the beach volleyball section.

Athletes come across Canada and the U.S. As well, we have had "guest athletes" and coaches from as far away as Australia, New Zealand, Venezuela, Chile, Mexico, England, Ireland, Poland and California.

Madawaska staff return year after year with many of our staff being 15 and 20 year "veterans". There is a camaraderie and passion that infects all who attend.

YOUR experience at Madawaska will be a learning experience. Maximum contacts, valuable feedback all from a most knowledgeable coaching staff. You will come away as a much better player with improved skills and having experienced the fun from working and playing with new friends.

You will leave Madawaska, as thousands before you have, with the "passion" for the sport of Volleyball!

ALL-SPORT CAMP:

For over 39 years, Madawaska Camp has been Canada's number one volleyball camp. Building on this success is the introduction of a unique All-Sport camp with will encompass many of the elements that has made Madawaska so popular for so many years - spirit, skill development and building friendships.

Program: The program is designed for boys and girls between the ages of 9-17. All athletes will receive instruction in a variety of land and water based sports activities including:

Basketball | Beach Volleyball | Canoeing | Climbing Wall | Kayaking | Ultimate Frisbee | Water Skiing | Archery | Wake Boarding | Low Ropes Course | Soccer | Ball Hockey

Athletes are grouped by gender and age. Individual attention is offered to all athletes with ample time devoted to competitive play. A recreational swim will be offered daily. The All-Sport program is supplemented by a well-planned social and evening program providing all participants with an enriched camping experience.

PLEASE NOTE: PARTICIPATION IN WATER BASED SPORTS ACTIVITIES REQUIRES EACH ATHLETE TO COMPLETE A BASIC STANDARDIZED SWIM TEST.

Staff: The Madawaska All-Sport Staff are an outstanding collection of counsellors, excellent athletes in their own right, who work positively with young people.

More importantly, all staff will possess the skills to work effectively with all children, regardless of ability, to ensure a positive and successful camp experience for everyone. Our staff will participate in their own pre-camp training that will work towards improving their own leadership skills and make sure that our techniques regarding the care of your child is consistent, motivating and fun-filled!
